The City of Oconto Falls is looking to fill a vacant alderperson position.  This position is for Aldermanic District 1 (Wards 1 & 2) with a term ending April 2020.  The interested party must reside in the City of Oconto Falls and in the district in which they are serving.

The Common Council may appoint an alderperson for this vacancy at a meeting held on June 11, 2019.

JOB POSTING:  BUILDING INSPECTOR

The City of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin (population 2,891), is currently accepting applications for the part time position of Building Inspector. This is a position reporting to the City Administrator, responsible for the administration and enforcement of the City’s Zoning, Building & Property Maintenance codes; issuing building permits and providing technical assistance to the Plan Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and City Council in carrying out its statutory obligations. The ideal candidate will possess State of Wisconsin UDC, construction, electric, HVAC, and plumbing credentials; have previous experience interpreting municipal zoning code, and outstanding communication and customer service skills. The Building Inspector shall conduct inspections of all residential buildings under construction or renovation.  The Building Inspector shall examine and review plans for building construction or alteration to determine compliance with UDC state codes, local zoning code, comprehensive plan, property maintenance and other applicable regulations. The position reviews and approves or denies applications for building permits and explains building code regulations and zoning code provisions to the public.  A high school diploma, UDC licenses obtained within 90 days and Zoning Administration work would be helpful.

A 6 month familiarization period is mandatory. Wage will be determined based upon qualification.  A job application and job description may be obtained at City Hall, 500 N. 2 part-time summer employment opportunities in the Park & Rec Dept

LIFE GUARD – Park and Rec Dept:
Thinking ahead for a great summer job?  You can become a life guard at the East-side Beach.  You can get a great tan, have fun with friends, and feel good that you are protecting the public.
Qualifications and Responsibilities: 
-Must be at least 15 years old and certified.
-Light cleaning work will be required.
-Great hours:  1 pm – 7 pm / Monday – Sunday.
-Working half of shift on dock and half of shift in beach house.
– Start date: the first part of June through end of August.
– Starting pay at $9.50 per hour; will receive raise each year of employment.

FIELD WORKER – Park and Rec Dept:
Field worker for the softball and baseball fields.  Training will be given – no need to know much about softball or baseball.
Qualifications and Responsibilities: 
-Must have a driver’s license or at least temps – will be driving on streets.
-Knowledge of use of a four wheel utility vehicle.
-Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
-Great hours:  3:30 pm – 5 pm / Monday through Thursday. May vary depending on number of games that day.
-Start date:  first part of May through middle of July.
– Starting pay at $9.50 per hour.
